Do you need help feeding your family? Let us help you. The mission of the Oxford Food Shelf is to provide FREE emergency grocery assistance to any family living in the town of Oxford and to families who are not residents of Oxford but who are registered members of an Oxford Church. We do not discriminate in any way. Every resident in town can come to us for food. We also provide food to the homeless individuals and families living within our community. We deliver groceries to senior citizens, the disabled and others as needed. The Oxford Food Shelf operates as a CHOICE food pantry, meaning that families come in and choose the foods they need or want. We provide each family with the dignity of being able to shop for their own items. They pick out what they can use. Each family is allowed two shopping trips each month. The groceries they receive include canned vegetables and canned fruits, baking goods, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, snacks, cereals, frozen meats, butter, cheese, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh breads, pies, cakes and other desserts. We also distribute USDA food as we receive it from the Worcester County Food Bank. In addition, we provide families with information on WIC, SNAP, Healthy Eating, Home Heating Assistance Programs and information on free and reduced cost medical care. For your safety—since we are not quite through the pandemic—all volunteers and all clients, including children over the age of two, will be required to wear masks when entering the Food Shelf.
