The Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf has reopened inside the Oxford Community Center! That means that once again you can choose the foods that are most appropriate for your family. While we’re in the same spot as before the start of the pandemic, the Food Shelf looks so different! We expanded and thoroughly cleaned the shopping area. It's brighter, spacious and more welcoming. Many of your favorite volunteers are back! Our hours are Thursdays, 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. For your safety—since we are not quite through the pandemic—all volunteers and all clients, including children over the age of two, are required to wear masks when entering the Food Shelf. The Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf is a FREE non-profit food pantry in Oxford MA. We are available to every resident in Oxford MA who needs groceries to help feed themselves or their family. Don't let anyone in our town go hungry. Tell them to come to us for food. For info, call us at 508-987-1062 or email us at oxfordfoodshelf@hotmail.com |

Oxford Food Shelf Reopens inside the Oxford Community Center - July 24, 2021
We are happy to inform you that the Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf plans to reopen inside the Oxford Community Center on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Our volunteers have been working hard to restock our shelves—and expand the shopping area to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all. The end result is that once again you will be able to choose the foods that are most appropriate for your own family. Beginning on the 12th, our hours will be 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. For your safety—since we not quite through the pandemic—all volunteers and all clients, including children over the age of two, will be required to wear masks when entering the Food Shelf. Another change that you need to be aware of: Also beginning on the 12th, you will be allowed two shopping trips each month. While this is a change from what we’ve been doing (allowing four or five shopping trips each month depending on the number of weeks in the month), allowing two trips each month gives you more opportunity to shop than you had before the pandemic (when you were limited to one shopping trip each month). For now, we will not be assigning you weeks to shop. You may come when it’s convenient for your family. We appreciate your patience as we transition back to being a choice food pantry, a model which has benefits for all of us. While the weeks ahead may bring additional changes, we hope that you recognize that each will be made with the health and safety of your family in mind. |

The Oxford Food Shelf has been approved to distribute USDA foods - March 2012
The Oxford Food Shelf has been approved to distribute USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) foods. In addition to the foods already provided by the Food Shelf we now also provide USDA foods to approved families. The USDA approval process is simple and takes about 5 minutes. Families do not need to bring any proof of income with them. To be approved a family is asked if their income level exceeds a federal guideline amount which is based upon the size of the family. The family answers YES or NO, and it's done. John Kneeland Chairman - Oxford Ecumenical Council & Oxford Food Shelf |
